Treat More, Spend Less: Addressing Your Customers’ Wastewater Challenges with Biotifx® 40B

At MDG, we offer specialized products for many wastewater treatment applications. However, we know that sometimes your customers need to combat a wide variety of issues with just one product. Enter Biotifx® 40B, an all-in-one, easy-to-use, Bacillus-based solution! Take a closer look at how 40B works to address common problems in the wastewater treatment industry, and learn how you can get in on the action by becoming one of our distribution partners.

Advantages of Biotifx® 40B

The concentrated nature of Biotifx® 40B is where its power lies. At 10 times the strength of our standard Biotifx® products (and up to 40 times the strength of some of our competitors!), it’s one of the strongest ready-to-use bioaugmentation products on the market. This means a little bit of 40B goes a long way, so you can use less to treat more, increasing ROI and saving both you and your customers money in the long run.

Biotifx® 40B also contains a complex blend of micronutrients to maximize microbial community performance. Including this complex array of micronutrients alongside our highly effective Bacillus strains allows 40B to provide increased benefits to the wastewater system.

Biotifx® 40B Works on…

Sludge

Excessive sludge can accumulate in wastewater treatment systems, eventually necessitating physical removal in order to maintain system efficiency. This removal process is costly with many layers of processing, and  facility operators typically need to pay for specialized labor and equipment.

Biotifx® 40B helps lower expenses associated with sludge removal by increasing digestion of organic sludge content. The Bacillus in 40B also encourage growth of the beneficial bacteria already in the system, which helps further increase the sludge digestion rate.

H2S and Odors

The emission of H2S gas and odors can be a significant challenge for wastewater treatment facilities. Many communities have legislation in place to control levels of odors and H2S emissions; exceeding these limits can result in fines to the facility. Additionally, H2S can corrode equipment and infrastructure over time, leading to expensive replacements.

The Bacillus in Biotifx® 40B utilize the components responsible for the formation of H2S and odors as food, encouraging Bacillus growth and prolonging their positive effects on the system. 40B also offers a proactive approach to treatment by helping prevent the formation of odorous compounds, reducing reliance on expensive chemical treatments and avoiding H2S-related fines.

Fats, Oils, and Grease (FOG)

FOG buildup can cause a lot of problems for wastewater facility operators, including:

  • Septicity
  • Excessive hydrogen sulfide (H2S) and odor production
  • Loss of treatment capacity
  • Equipment failure
  • Poor settling

Reducing FOG with chemical treatments can be expensive and is often non-preventative, meaning that these issues will likely arise again with the same or increased severity or be pushed downstream. The Bacillus in Biotifx® 40B, however, excel at digesting and removing the organic material that makes up FOG, decreasing accumulation in the system and thereby mitigating many common FOG-related issues.

Effective Treatment, No Matter the Temperature

Treating in the fall or winter? No problem! We also offer a product for increased activity in cold-temperatures, called Biotifx® FRZ 40B. This product has been scientifically formulated to maintain beneficial biological activity when temperatures drop below 59°F/15°C. Learn more about FRZ here.
