Did You Know? - Naegleria fowleri
- November 25, 2015
In the last decade the United States has seen 40 people who have been affected by Naegleria fowleri, commonly known as “brain-eating” amoeba. It is found in water sources, soil, and poorly maintained swimming pools. Infection typically occurs when the Naegleria fowleri is exposed to the nose. Drinking water does not lead to infection.
